The difficulties that I am facing during this process, is the fact that there are limited sources on tattoos on teenagers, but more so on young (adults). I am also seeing lots of things about how risky they are with infections, which I don't believe is true. You can only get an infection by an unlicensed artist, and not taking care of it, at all.
How I like to check if my source is reliable, is simply checking the bottom and top of the age to see if there is any publisher names, or dates. I also check for doctor, tattoo, or adolescence wellness based websites. i also look for parents asking questions about their teen wanting a tattoo, and what to do. Since my research includes talking to the people in my life that do not have tattoos, to see what they think of my three tattoos.
I tracked my website my searching up different things such as my research question, "teenagers on tattoos", and "my teen loves tattoos". I also used the databases provided by the BCI library, in the health, wellness, and appearance section. I will also be talking to people I know that have tattoos, and what kind of things and people they face about their ink. If it is one tattoo or twenty, it is a surprise to see how teenagers get treated by the people that surround them.
If I had to do this assignment again, I would pick a more popular topic, such as family, and mental health only because there is so much information on it, and everyone has to deal with it, not everyone gets tattoos and writes about it on the internet. Also, with past experiences with my family, I could create a unique question to work with, as some of my family are immigrants, and we have our own struggles.
