I came to choose my final question with the help of my English teacher, Ms. Taylor. My other options were band, and military related. We both thought this topic would have an amazing product, and i'm nothing but excited to gain knowledge on how tattoos effect the way a teenager is perceived by people around them. I am able to relate to tattoos because I got my first tattoo just at the age of fourteen, and two more since then.
I developed the following question, because the way people see my tattoos, is overall positive, but I want to know how many people don't get the same appeal, and why. It impacts my identity because it shows everyone what I am passionate about. For example, my 104 Starfighter tattoo shows that the cadet program is important to me, and it will be with me forever. My Rose tattoo represents my grandmother and who and what she loved. Her name will always be in my heart, and in my name too. The bass clef tattoo represents my passion for music, and being a drummer for as long as I can.
The topic itself makes it a good question, because no matter how much money you spend, a tattoo will always be there. Effective decision making is a key factor in a tattoo, and while dealing with so many changes in a teenagers life, there will be times where you don't make the right choice, and it could just happen to be marked on your body for all to see. Which is why there is an age limit, and parental consent for your first tattoo.
